ASIA’s first continuous galvanized rebar
Madhav KRG GroupUsing galvanized rebars is essential in coastal regions, especially in bridges and highways, to fight corrosion and provide long service life. Their use is however restricted due to high prices. The new continuous process of galvanizing rebars (CGR) reduces the cost of galvanized rebars, while not compromising on corrosion-protection ability, thereby making them feasible for widespread use and larger coverage. The technology transfer to India was facilitated totally free of cost by Vedanta along with International Zinc Association. The 1st CGR line in India and in Asia, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Steel and Petroleum, Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan & Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel, Sh. Faggan Singh Kulaste.

Zinc Wire ManufacturersCorrosion of Railway tracks & its associated components, especially in coastal regions is a great problem for Indian Railways. To combat these losses of manpower & resources, Vedanta along with International Zinc Association (IZA) worked with Indian Railways & RDSO to get the zinc-coated rails tested & approved. This has provided a much needed push to the business of Indian zinc wire manufacturers & at the same time plugging the corrosion losses in the economy.
